The January 1, 1914 Oregon City Courier contains a wedding notice mentioning Lulu and several people named McGahuey in Oregon City. The notice describes a December 24 ceremony. It is an early newspaper occurrence of the exact surname, preserved by the University of Oregon’s newspaper archive.
Exact surname McGahuey visually confirmed in the original newspaper scan of image 14 on October 6, 2026, in the wedding heading and first paragraph. The archive’s OCR transcription also contains the surname. No connection to people in other entries is asserted.
